I don’t really know much about the classics but seeing @nataliehaynes.bsky.social talking about them yesterday at the Hay Winter Festival was a real joy - funny, thought provoking and weirdly current ( considering the subject matter is so ancient ) - loved it!

If when driving through a flood , the undercarriage of your car is wrenched off and left hanging underneath then don’t despair. Simply pull it off completely and tie it the roof to get home - at least that’s what I did ….

Why oh why on the coldest day of the year so far does the back up generator decide to die? Bit of a recurring theme up here but thankfully managed to restore power thanks to a borrow from our good friend Jasper Fforde ( albeit running at low voltage hence the dull lights - feeling a tad hygge )

Today started predictably badly. Eldest managed to lose the whole sole of her boot just getting out of the car to catch the college bus ( and subsequently refused to get on it ) . On the plus side she had some super glue in her handbag ???? so she fixed them and I drove her in - proud father sort of
