Forearm has the distinction of the worst name of any mutant character because he's named Forearm and his power is having.... four arms. Thanks Liefeld.

Magneto was basically a different character during X-Men's first run, with none of the nuance he'd acquire later under Claremont. He'd 100% blister his Brotherhood's asses if it suited him, especially Toad, who he was really, really mean to during the 60s. 😔

Claremont has a massive mind-control/corruption kink, to the extent it shapes a large body of his work. That gets reflected in X-Men a LOT. I picked Mesmero and Sauron as the villains for this day because mc is their whole thing, but any telepath could've worked too.

And about the underwear, I did have to break canon slightly. We've only ever seen Strong Guy in boxers (I think), but he's always radiated strong briefs-guy energy to me.
