"I want to die in your arms." Is what Suguru had said, several months ago, in addition to many other filthy, violent, bloodlust-fueled things after Satoru drank the common sense out of his neck, before Suguru fucked him until he was too exhausted to move. Suguru had never been with a vampire before, and certainly never fed one. He didn’t trust them. But Satoru was special. He treated Suguru like he was life itself. He was loving and gentle in a way no one had ever been before. He was rough and hungry enough to satisfy Suguru. He was possessive, and Suguru called him out for it every time, but he liked it. It made him feel special. Suguru didn’t trust him either. Well, maybe he did. It’s complicated. Satoru told him once, the first time he drank from him, that any vampire would kill to get a taste of Suguru. But they never would get the chance. Suguru knew well enough that any human would offer themselves to Satoru in a heartbeat, but Satoru wouldn’t take them. Because Satoru was his. At least, that’s what Suguru thought. Until Satoru indulged with some freshman girl at a party. It totally wasn’t his scene. She wasn’t his scene. When Suguru asked about it, he acted like it was no big deal. Said she didn’t even come close to Suguru’s taste. He didn’t look him in the eye when he said it. Suguru had half a mind to stake him through the heart. So, Suguru got back at him. He approached the creepy kid who was always looking at him in biochem. He offered a drink, for a price. He followed the guy to his place, pocketed fifty dollars in cash, and let him drink from his neck. He was nothing like Satoru. It still had that sharp sting that turned into an ache, it still caused a tingly sensation beneath the skin, it still had him losing himself bit by bit as it went on, but it didn’t make his body feel like molten honey. He didn’t feel calmed and excited at the same time, he didn’t feel aroused in the slightest, he didn’t feel held. He didn’t feel anything. He wondered if it was like this for Satoru with that girl. When Satoru returned to their shared apartment that day, he was livid. He growled you’re mine and did you fuck him too? Suguru had never felt attacked by Satoru, but when he pushed back, argued that Satoru didn’t get to act territorial when he treated him like just another dish in the blood buffet, Satoru attacked him. He tore into him right over the still fresh bite wound on his neck and Suguru’s heart jumped into overdrive. He’d taken to keeping a wooden blade with him at all times. It was hard to find one that was actually sturdy, well crafted, and still easy to conceal. He drew it while he still had some strength left and for the first time, he saw fear in Satoru’s eyes. It was just enough to get the upper hand, pinning Satoru to the floor with a hand on his throat and the other poised to strike. He could have killed him. He could have ended it right there. Instead, he watched Satoru’s fear crumble into shame, all of the aggression from seconds ago nowhere to be seen. Instead, he broke into tears, exhaustion catching up to him, and Satoru held him and said I’m sorry over and over again. This is what Suguru wanted. He wanted a fight. He wanted to be reassured. He wanted to show Satoru that he wouldn’t let him get away with whatever he wanted.

"You have no idea how many would kill to get a taste of you," he rasped. Suguru’s tongue darted out to lick his lips. Satoru wanted to chase it with his teeth. "Make sure they know you’re mine, then," Suguru said, barely above a whisper. Satoru’s nerves flared and shocked, his whole body trying to break free and get a piece of Suguru. His lips had parted at some point, just barely tasting Suguru’s own desire in the air. Satoru leaned in even closer, leaving no room for escape, not quite believing his ears. "You’re offering, then?" Suguru’s eyes bore into him deeper than any non-human being Satoru had ever encountered. "Yes." The ravenous thing in Satoru’s veins thrashed again. He could practically taste Suguru’s pulse on his lips. "Even if I say I might lose myself?" His voice was thick with want, blatantly revealing how desperately he wanted to give in to instinct, to Suguru. "You won’t," Suguru countered, infuriatingly measured, confident, powerful. Satoru wanted to tear him apart. He wanted to treat him like the divine creature he was. He wanted to push him beyond his limits. Satoru slid his arm around Suguru’s waist, resting a hand on the small of his back. Suguru drew in a breath, the slightest shift against his touch, his tantalizing pulse quickening. "You might wanna hold onto me," Satoru said. Suguru raised a brow, as if offended by the prospect of needing aid to stand while he was fed from. Still, he lightly placed his hands on Satoru’s shoulders. Satoru was dying to prove just how much he would need the support once Satoru got started with him. He tilted his head toward Suguru’s neck again, breathing in his intoxicating scent. "Ready?" He asked against Suguru’s ear. Suguru’s fingers flexed over his shoulders. "Yes." Finally, finally, Satoru sank his teeth into Suguru’s neck, breaking the skin and sliding his canines through as gently as instinct would allow him to. Suguru gasped and gripped Satoru’s arms so hard, Satoru felt it to the bone. A rush snapp…

They found a rhythm together, breathing in time, never breaking contact, moving with each other and against each other until their bodies were one, in tandem with the music, tasting the sweat off each other’s skin. Suguru held onto Satoru’s waist while Satoru bent back, spine arching under Suguru’s hands, blinding smile on his face, shirt riding up on his torso, making Suguru want to slide his hand under it, tug on it with his teeth or something else primal and senseless. Satoru dipped him so low his hair dragged on the floor and Suguru wasn’t even worried about falling, wasn’t worried about how dirty it was, wasn’t worried about what he looked like, feeling Satoru’s lips graze his throat, strong hands holding him secure, eyes always on him. There was nothing but them and the music, nothing but Satoru somehow understanding every indication Suguru made with his hands, his hips, his head, following his lead like he’d been doing it his whole life, nothing but Satoru’s chest against Suguru’s back, one hand on his hip, the other lifting Suguru’s arm up over their heads and stroking down feather light like the move in Dirty Dancing, and Suguru was too caught up in it all, too comfortable in his body, a sort of euphoria he hadn’t felt in years flowing steady, enjoying himself too much to realize that this guy might just be the guy of his dreams.

Satoru set his bag down by the door and closed it behind him, double checking that he wasn’t followed. The run-down cabin seemed bigger on the inside than it looked on the out, like the walls were made of endless darkness, swallowing up any semblance of a room that may be farther inside. Satoru took a few cautious steps forward and knelt on the uneven floor. "Suguru?" He called softly. No response from the gaping void in front of him. Not so much as an out of place gust of wind. Satoru sighed, bracing himself. He slipped the pocket knife he’d taken to carrying out of his pocket and flipped it open. He held his breath and quickly made a small cut on his palm, wincing at the sting. Something like a gasp echoed from ahead. Satoru put away the knife without checking if it was clean and stared intently, holding out his hand and waiting. Slowly, something shuffled closer, the sound of scraping and dragging on the hardwood joined by ragged, shallow breaths. Finally, Suguru crawled into view, each movement heavy and labored. His hair dragged on the floor and his arms shook; his face, though mostly obscured, was pale and gaunt. Satoru reached out his arm as far as it would go, silently urging him closer. Suguru came within reach and grasped at Satoru’s hand, his own cold as ice. He pulled himself to it and desperately licked at the shallow wound on his palm. A weak noise of distress escaped him at the lack of blood to be pulled from it. "Closer," Satoru coaxed, gently tugging on Suguru’s shoulder. Suguru frantically followed his pull, practically collapsing into his lap. Satoru swept his hair out of the way while Suguru scrambled and drew him closer, guiding him to his neck, tilting his head to expose the bare skin. Suguru immediately dove for it and latched onto him, teeth sinking harshly into flesh, clutching at whatever solid part of him he could reach. Satoru sucked in a breath, tensing, then forced himself to relax again with a slow sigh. Suguru inhaled deep through... ...his nose as he drank, the breath filling his ribs like he hadn’t breached the surface for air in weeks. He sank into Satoru’s embrace bit by bit, desperation dissipating with every swallow, gentleness returning, hands soothing the places he’d gripped too hard. Satoru’s skin tingled and he felt his pulse like a steady roll of thunder beneath Suguru’s bite. He knew by now to keep breathing, counting each inhale and exhale like a metronome. He held Suguru tight, stroking his hair, and Suguru melted into him, his body warming in Satoru’s arms, a broken hum of relief rumbling from his throat. Shivers went down Satoru's spine and old aches resurfaced and something in his chest felt warmer in spite of its lifeblood draining steadily. He didn’t mind one bit, a sense of pleasure and completion in the intimacy of giving his very life in its physical form to Suguru. Since Suguru was cursed, since they and the whole village were cursed, it was the only thing keeping him alive. More alive than the frozen state of slumber he fell into after too long without it. In a way, it’s what Satoru always wanted - sharing a life with him. Satoru’s head spun when Suguru’s mouth finally released his neck, his hot breath raising goosebumps on his skin. Suguru stayed there, regaining his senses for a moment, leaning heavily on Satoru’s shoulder. Satoru took deep breaths of his own to keep himself balanced, pulling away just enough to see Suguru’s face, cradling it in his hands. Suguru blinked sluggishly, leaning into his palm, the color returned to his cheeks, breaths full and clear once more, delicate lips stained with Satoru’s blood. Satoru carefully wiped away the remnants, feeling them form his name in a bare whisper. "Do you need more?" Satoru asked quietly. Suguru shook his head, putting his hands over Satoru’s. He pressed one of them to his chest, like he was asking him to check if his heart was still beating. It was, shared with his own, the same beat pulsing through both of them.

Part of Suguru really hopes that tall stranger with the intricate, feathered blue mask is who he thinks he is. Another part of him really hopes that he’s wrong. Because if it is him, Suguru is fucked. So far he’s only seen flashes of blue and white, a cinderella-esque figure in satin and tulle and elbow length gloves. Suguru carefully skirts the edges of the crowd, sizing up his target, still unsure if he wants to find out. He’s taking a break, taking a much needed drink, eaves-dropping on every conversation that flits by. He’s scanning the crowd again when his target approaches him instead “Hey.” Suguru’s spine goes rigid. He thinks he knows that voice. He tells himself he can’t be sure. It’s been years. He has a job to do. He pastes a pleasant smile on his face, cheeks bumping against his own dark mask. He turns around. He knows as soon as he sees the eyes. “Hey,” Suguru replies. He stops himself from saying Satoru’s name, poised on the tip of his tongue for far too long, knocking on the backs of his teeth. Crystals glimmering brighter than the gaudy chandeliers on the ceiling stare back at him. "Care for a dance?” The masked man Suguru fell in love with ten years ago asks. He holds out his hand. And Suguru knows an opportunity when he sees one. His smile stretches wider and he tilts his head. “Why not,” he answers. He takes Satoru’s hand.
