Their poor delivery and paper thin support is not an indictment of the movement itself, and while I think all representation matters, even when it’s clumsy and money grabbing, people need to stop looking at adverts as a source of critique of the “woke agenda”, weirdly we aren’t fans of mega corps

Will people stop conflating capitalism and mega corps advertising with social progression. They are a fun house mirror trying to show us what they think we want to see. Like do I want to see more minorities, yes, do I think Coke is doing it out of genuine support of minorities, of course not.

Like having over a century of content in television and cinema very precisely catered to people like me (white, straight cis-man) and now we are starting to have very minor amount of variety with the kinds of people we see, and people lose their shit, oblivious to others who’ve never felt seen. Also

Logic and racism aren’t compatible so I get that this is asking too much of them, but still it boggles my mind that they can’t take their own (manufactured) feelings of being represented less and apply them to millions of minorities who have never been represented. Requires empathy I guess 🤷‍♂️

As long as it doesn’t go full Duolingo and kill the bean 😅 Maybe just having ideas about knitting, or it having lots distractions but lamenting it just wants to knit, so we want to help them? and yeah as others have said just a quick way of starting a timer.
