Following the massive turnout at Saturday's protests, I've been thinking about how we can best get SUSTAINED resistance. I think it has to come from mutual aid networking, and mapped out a possibility for local groups to implement now.

Protests don’t shake empires. Youth-led resistance does. It’s time we stop asking where they are — and start learning from what they’ve been doing all along.

Using the Pied Piper as a lens, I reflect on resisting a movement that pulls so many people I love along with it. This is a piece about heartbreak, survival, and standing apart — but also about finding the other children left behind and creating our own tune.

In my life, I've been called a lot of things that may have been true at one point, but when they don't match what I know to be true about myself in the present, depression sets in. I begin to think no one will ever see me the way I really am.

And I LIKE who I am!

Behind Neverland—how a spark from a musical, a memory from childhood, and a decade of imagination grew into my first book. It’s about imagination that refuses to let go, characters who act like family, and the way a story can quietly shape the person who tells it.

The plan is still to get to Colorado, where I have a better chance of not living in poverty or always worrying that I'll end up homeless within a few weeks. That constant worry has not played well with my mental health over the years.

I'm still working to get to Denver. I am accepting that I'll probably have to go to a shelter locally for a while, but the idea fills me with dread. I think the interview I had the other day went pretty well.
