I can’t say I’ve added a destination because of a book, but I’d definitely recommend “The Sex Lives of Cannibals” by J Maarten Troost. An absolutely hilarious account of his time in the pacific.

There is something to be said about a reasonable quantity of GOOD ingredients. I also love that Europe tends to lean towards salami on pizza instead of pepperoni. You wouldn't think it would make that much of a difference, but it does.
