I followed my thoughts thru to conclusion (as Padme told Anakin) and the reason Wāhine Māori are so low in iron is coz 1. Colonial interference with our diet. 2. Not eating food of THIS whenua, and 3. Capitalism. Wāhine mā: return to kaimoana, kumara, manu, and the ngāhere. Me? I'm trying!
