In class, we discussed "unity through sports," and it reminded me of the iconic India vs Pakistan cricket match. The energy in the stadium was electric, with fans from both nations coming together in the spirit of the game. Sports like cricket show how competition can unite even the fiercest rivals.

It’s frustrating to see all that money spent on venues that sit empty. If more sustainable and community focused plans were put in place, the long-term benefits for local economies could have been so much greater. It's time for a rethink on how we approach these mega events.

I totally agree with you. That sentence really stood out to me too. It’s true that winning feels great in the moment, but the physical harm and stress athletes go through can last much longer. It’s a reminder that we need to think about the long-term impact on their health.

I think sport is any physical activity with skill, rules, and competition. Cricket in India is definitely a sport, while playing carrom or watching movies is just leisure. some might say kabaddi is a simple village game, but it's really a sport because it needs strategy, strength, and skill.

It's shocking that even in 2025 , women in the WNBA are still fighting for fair pay. Reading about the player's protests reminds me my own school experience, where girls teams often had fewer resources and less recognition than boy's teams.
