My relative, William Bettencourt, 1902-1967 was a high school teacher and co-authored textbooks for mechanical drawing. I wondered how many students remember using this textbook. His hobby was to collect wood nutcrackers from Europe. #Genealogy #BelmontMA

The Theriault family, of Salem MA, in 1880 census showed that 2 teenagers were working in the cotton mill. The father was born in Kamouraska, Quebec, Canada. They were a important part of the French Canadian community. #Genealogy #SalemMA

The Leduc family lived and worked in Lawrence MA. Napoleon as a moulder in an iron foundry. The son, Jean, was employed as a bobbin worker in a textile mill. Concord street had many 4 story apartment buildings. #Genealogy #LawrenceMA

March 19, 1887, Nantucket, MA. After the chief of police is dismissed, Horage G. Norcross is elected as the new chief. His photo is from about 1950. As Chief of Police he set about to bring order to the community, see his sign below. #Nantucket #Genealogy

This ancestor, Ruth Fox Bettencourt, attended school close to her home on Newbury St. Boston around 1915. Ruth is in the row with the teacher, 5th student from the left. She later, 1930 worked at the Boston office of the Quaker Oats Company. #Genealogy #Boston #QuakerOatsCompany

My ancestor, George Ritchie, 1884-1952, spent years working for Frigidaire. When he completed his WWII draft registration card he noted that he was employed by General Motors Frigidaire Div. He travelled his area installing units and keeping the milk cold. #Genealogy #Frigidaire

So many new citizens took their oath on July 4th, I thought of my ancestor, John Zachko, filed his intention in 1917. He had arrived June 1891 and worked at an Iron foundry for decades. That family had 8 kids. #Genealogy #LynnMA

My ancestor Michael Fox, 1823-1900, spent 10 days in jail for trespassing on the land of Earl of Glengall, Richard Butler. He was caught with 7 others. I wonder was he hunting or cutting through. 13 -23 Sept 1842. Tipperary, Ireland. #genealogy #Tipperary

In Sept of 1918, my ancestor completed the required WWI draft registration card. He listed his address, age, employer, citizenship status, nearest releative and birth date. He later became a barber. #genealogy #Lynn

Henry Gosselin was a cook for the Merchant Marines. Enlisted in Boston MA. He signed up without telling his wife, left her at home with 3 kids. After the second mission, which was in foreign waters, he did not reenlist. #LynnMA #Genealogy #MerchantMarines

Horace G. Norcross had an experience with his dog while walking the beach for the Coskata Life Saving Station. As reported, the dog showed signs of going mad and Norcross was quick to save himself. Sept 1 1906, Nantucket Massachusetts #genealogy #Nantucket

Uncle Arthur Gosselin was in a scary situation and came out a hero. He was chased down by armed bandits while driving in Lynn MA. They tried to push him off the road. Arthur is 1st top row in the family photo. #genealogy #Lynn #MA

These 6 men are the first generation born, 1858 to 1874, in Massachusetts. Their parents, Michael Fox and Margaret Price were from Ireland. These men became an undertaker, a professional baseball player, a chauffeur, and a railway conductor. #genealogy #Irish

n 1918, my ancestor from Scotland, worked as a civilian for the US Navy. As a boilermaker in the shipyard he probably worked on the USS Brazos. It was launched May 1919 from Boston. USS Brazos had 4 boilers. That is the contribution from an immigrant. #genealogy

I was thinking of this persistent immigrant. Febuary 1933, he woke the sheriff to get entry to the jail. He did get a warm place to rest & a day in court. He had been deported 45 times. Is he is in your family tree? Gosselin Family Association famillesgosselin.org #Gosselin #genealogy

Her life story is interesting but short, Mary Ritchie Fox, 1911, Boston to 1946, Lynn Massachusetts. She participated in speed skating and track and field events. Later she married and had 3 children.
