I'm away during the week but i call home every night. Mr. Semiotic usually has me on speaker. Tonight when the cat came in during our convo I said "hi, sweetie" in my usual talk-to-the-cat voice and she got all confused. I'll make it up to her on the weekend.

I made a student's day today by granting them a three-day extension on a paper. I'll likely only be halfway though grading by that point, if that far. Why be a dick when there's the opportunity not to be a dick.

The Banned Books Week event that I've been working on with the librarians was tonight and it went very well! Excellent turn out and a lot of students and faculty shared their stories about books that had meaning for them. I'm so proud and pleased! And happy it's over. 😁
