Without language, or community support, I had no way to understand myself. "The gays" were the only ones who did what I wanted to do. I was insecure that maybe I was gay, hence "insecure about sexuality."

Honestly, it just seems like a form of intracommunity propaganda. An idea that there's some kinda way that you're not allowed to be Queer. A way for the community to police Queerness, and establish hierarchy based on that. I genuinely don't see a social function for the term outside of that

Like, I've literally never met a Trans individual who attempted to dissuade another from any element of their transition. Nor one who actually understood social issues, and misapplied them, like a social vampire. Yet somehow there's this stereotype, readily available to apply to anyone
