21% of the UK population or 14.3 million people live in relative poverty. Maybe we should talk about them for a change rather than the tax concerns of Jeremy Clarkson's wealthy children

Shocking & sobering new statistics from @trusselluk.bsky.social. As they say “this can’t go on”
🚨 Over 1.4 MILLION emergency food parcels were provided by food banks in our community in just 6 months. This is 69% higher than the same period 5 years ago.

This can't go on and we refuse to stand by while so many of us are pushed to the brink, without enough money to live on.

Conservative MP Alex Burghart, whose leader stood on a stage yesterday to defend Jeremy Clarkson and James Dyson's right to hang on to their multimillion pound inheritances, now furiously complaining about the Government handing pay rises to public sector workers.

“The sheer number of people still facing hunger and hardship across the UK is heartbreaking. This cannot go on.” 💬

More than 277,000 people visited a food bank in the Trussell community for the first time between April and September this year. ⬇️

The vast numbers of farmers will not have to pay inheritance tax. The new measures apply to people like Dyson and Clarkson. The government has failed to make this clear.
Important context here:

● over half of farms are less than 49 acres (20 hectares)

● "a big farm" is 217 acres.

Now let's see who's angry:

● Clarkson farm is 1,000 acres
● Lloyd Webber farms 4,000 acres
● Viscount Rothermere (Mail owner) 4,700 acres
● Dyson owns 36,000 acres
A message from a REAL farmer who hasn’t been brainwashed by the Tories, wealthy landowners and the right wing media👇🏽

Wow. BBC also didn’t think this was important enough to raise with the Government Minister this morning. What do we think is going on here?
In a significant Intervention Bank of England governor said this week that Brexit has undermined the UK economy. @skynews.com.web.brid.gy didn’t think that was important enough to raise with the Government Minister this morning. I disagree. If you do too share this report
