See, that would never be me. I’d spend the two hours trying to sit up, thinking about where on the couch would be the most helpful spot for getting up, am I stuck here forever, and hoping I don’t have to pee so bad that the effort of getting up would make me pee all over the new cream colored couch.

I admit it’s been a million years so I didn’t remember the details. My impression as a young person watching is that he didn’t understand human behavior or emotion, instead mimicking things he observed. You’ve made me interested in rereading the story, it’s easily more than 40 years.

I dont remember the murders but as for the partner, I would assume it’s indicative of his general inability to understand emotion. He feels it but doesn’t understand it.

I think the creature sucks but am not entirely certain he can be blamed for that…I might be convinced otherwise

They don’t need to. Thanks to you, everyone sees that the Republican led government is shut down and probably will be for a long time, to everyone’s detriment, and that the bullies will take the opportunity to destroy any Dem-led programs out of pure ugliness. Dems don’t look bad here. You do.
