IRN 346 Bucuresti Nord - Wien Hbf. Pulled by the most modern locomotives CFR has to offer. Apparently this locomotive was handed over only days ago from Softronic to CFR.

Arrived in #bucharest with 15min delay. In the night there was one hour long shunting in Lugoj.

Around one hour break in #Arad and I boarded the last train. IR(N?) 14300 run by Astra Trans Carpatic to #bucharest. I paid 66€ for my bed in a two person compartment. Because of construction to improve the speed of the line the train has to take a detour. Total trip time just over 14h.

Around one hour break in #Arad and I boarded the last train. IR(N?) 14300 run by Astra Trans Carpatic to #bucharest. I paid 66€ for my bed in a two person compartment. Because of construction to improve the speed of the line the train has to take a detour. Total trip time just over 14h.
Lunch break over. Its time that the seat quality gets worse... Now in the CFR carriage to Arad. It will take longer than needed, because the timetable still includes 30min stop on each side of the border for passport checks.

Because #Budapest-Keleti is closed, you have to take Regio from Budapest-Kelenföld to Kőbánya-Kispest. There all the eastbound trains leave.

Ist das nen Bug oder hat der Ticketshop von der #ÖBB einfach nachgelassen? Als Einzelperson kann ich im Schlafwagen nur 1er Abteil buchen. Nicht 2er oder 3er geteilt. Im Liegewagen geht alles wie gewohnt. Vieleicht liegts aber auch an #cfr.

We spend two nights in #brașov. I have been to the city before, but that was in Winter just after Christmas. Sadly, the cable car to Tampa Hill has been under construction since last year.

We booked first class on this train as the tickets were relatively cheap and only a few euros more expensive. This means we have legroom and the carriage is not busy.

At first, the scenery was flat, but as we left the Pannonian Basin, it became more hilly.

As our train to #craiova left at 6 am, we had the chance to see the sunrise. It took almost 7.5 hours to cover the 329 km to Craiova, so this is clearly not a fast train.
