I’ve always lived by the principle that a list that includes the words ‘Jonathon Gullis’ and ends with ‘and Andrea Jenkyns’ is to be avoided.

The I-Player subscribes to this view pretty much. And very good it is too.

I can’t quite believe how quickly we have arrived at this.

My dad once gave me a pack of underpants - ‘I’ll be honest I did buy them for me, but they didn’t fit properly.’

They do exist. My son found one in Norfolk that his ID was accepted at.

To my horror he texted to say he was enjoying the buffet and Elvis impersonator put on for a terminally ill murderer who was having a release party. He even sent through a photo.

Over time I’ve come to like it more and more, and I think the pod’s central theme (or one of them) - that it works as a whole that is so much more than a sum of its parts - absolutely makes sense.

Many thanks as ever.

What a listen!
It sealed the deal for me with DSOTM.
Many years ago, as a 15 year old borrowing records/CD from my local
Library, I was totally bowled over by The Wall and found DSOTM a colossal let down. I was expecting soaring guitars and space related lyrics and it just didn’t do it for me.

It feels like a continuation of the Sunak govt to me in some ways. But def upgrade on Johnson, Truss and May.

I’d like to know Godwin’s take on an Islamist saying this kind of stuff - I suspect he’d (rightly) be calling for a similar sanction.

Looking forward to it. Which version are you doing? Pink Floyd or Roger’s?

Yes, a goal has such a high value. Points in rugby, basketball, or a wicket in cricket just don’t compare.

I think it’s to do with the need to keep going forward - no proper equivalent of ‘11 behind the ball and thou shall not pass.’
December 7, 2025 at 4:47 PM
Yes. As much as I love rugby it is often very predictable. Difficult to do the equivalent of a ‘back to the wall, 1-0 win with your keeper having a blinder and the woodwork saving you.’

I should add - specifically draw distinction between Tories and reform.

I’m intrigued he’s said that. He’s right of course, but it’s an interesting comment tactically.
