1 week, 3 events, and a metric ton of emails later…I’m exhausted!

If you need me, I’ll be vacationing under rock for the next few days with a blanket and book to read for fun.

I’m at the age (or maybe the zone of wisdom) where if a pair of shoes doesn’t have good tread I’m not wearing them. No more are the days of flat smooth shoe bottoms and skating across tile floors.

If you want to keep those cherished bookstores, cafes, or third places, keep boycotting Amazon, Starbucks, Big Tech, and Big Box corporations.

Going over an article pre-DSM V shining light on the debate of where “complicated grief” should be categorized, if at all. Attachment disorders? Personality Disorders? Stress Response Syndrome? An ugly debate for a thing without much evidence—luckily it ended up in “conditions for further study”

I am not here to teach you how to grieve. In my version of Grief Education I fully believe every person knows how to grieve. I believe I’m here to help yall unlearn the systems and ideas in the way of exercising that instinctual, old as bones and dirt knowledge of grieving yall have.

Why are we always looking for that one model/theory/framework to rule them all? It didn’t work with rings of power it doesn’t work with Grief. Grief needs different things for different reasons at different times. Grief is dynamic and needs an ongoing dynamic response.

The urgency of the “world on fire” moment we’re in has people afraid to grieve. “I don’t got time to grieve I need to function I need to fight, I’ll grieve after…”

My sweet summer honeys. Suppressing grief is a #1 tool of oppressors. Inside real grieving is everything you need for revolution.

I don’t mark up books. Marking up books like defacing a sacred expression meant to be kept with honour for when one needs a window outside of or mirror into one’s own soul. But today is different.

“Necropolitics” Achille Mbembe is a whole convo full of mic drops that need highlights
