Hello there. I’m Mallory! A nostalgic 90s kid, nerd, and introvert. I have a PhD in biology (science pops up here sometimes!) and am a chronic fantasy reader who thrives on cozy vibes ✨

Excited to swap book recs and nerdy thoughts!

(Be honest: Did you read the first words like Obi-Wan Kenobi?)
Hey #booksky, it's been a minute, but I have an important question for you: How do you feel about book-to-movie adaptations?
🎥 Love them!
📖 Books are always better
🤷‍♀️ It depends on the adaptation

I'm back with another bookish would you rather, #booksky!

Would you rather: Only read books with 500+ pages OR only read books under 300 pages?
March 17, 2025 at 11:45 AM
You ever stop and actually think about how big your TBR is? Well, don't do that.

📖 I’m enjoying Fourth Wing, but my mood reading brain is all, "but why not read two more books?"

There are just so many more I want to read!

You can step into the world of one book for a day. Which book/world are you choosing?

#Booksky: What’s a book that made you emotional in a way you didn’t expect?

Nothing like a good book to distract from the fact that Monday exists 🫠

What’s your go-to comfort read when you need a little escape on a Sunday night?

#Booksky, does your reading style change with the seasons? 📖☀️❄️

Do you save the 600-page (or more!) beasts for winter and pick up lighter, quicker reads in spring and summer? Or do you just read whatever, whenever?
March 8, 2025 at 7:02 PM
Mini recommendations list: 3 books that hooked me in the first chapter:
📖 Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder
📖 The Warded Man by Peter V. Brett
📖 Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros (this was unexpected!)

Your turn #booksky: What’s a book that grabbed you right away?

Join me in a quick round of bookish "would you rather," #booksky!

Would you rather only be able to re-read books forever OR never be able to re-read anything again?
March 6, 2025 at 12:15 PM
Help me build a top notch short reads TBR (please? 🥹)!

Share your BEST book recs under 300 pages! 📚

It feels like so many books these days are hefty tomes, but I love having shorter reads to mix in—especially between those 600-page beasts. So, what are your go-to short but satisfying reads?
March 5, 2025 at 3:31 PM
Hey #booksky, don't be mad at me, but I've never read anything by Brandon Sanderson. I'd like to, though! I've heard great things!

I know he's prolific, so please help me out. Where should I start?

#Booksky, what’s your go-to reading snack?
🍫 Chocolate
☕ Tea or coffee
🍿 Popcorn or chips
❌ I can’t be trusted with snacks and books; it’s too risky for the books!

Me? I have my water nearby, but I don't snack while I'm reading!

The worst part of reading a disappointing book is knowing I could have spent that time on something I actually really wanted to read.

And you know what? I'm not doing this anymore! Life is too short to be wasted on books I don't love 📚💙

#Booksky, what's your most re-read book of all time? Why do you keep coming back to it?
March 3, 2025 at 3:39 PM
Huh. Weird. Can’t seem to find a single valid reason. 🤷‍♀️📚

#Booksky, How do you choose your next read?
📖 I follow my moods
🗓️ TBR lists and planned choices
🗣️ Recommendations from others
🔄 I grab whatever's closest

So, tell me, #booksky, why should I read Fourth Wing? It's been on my TBR for a while, but I keep grabbing different books. I think I'm worried it won't live up to the hype since I've had that experience with ACOTAR 🙃

Have you read Fourth Wing? Is it worth a read?
February 26, 2025 at 12:41 PM
#Booksky, what's the weirdest or most unexpected place you've ever read a book?

February 25, 2025 at 12:29 PM
I know I’ve asked this before, but I’m still debating whether I want to keep a physical reading journal or continue to rely on an app.

So! How do you track your reading?:
📊 Spreadsheets
📱 Apps
📖Journals or notebooks
🚫 I don’t track
February 24, 2025 at 12:38 PM
I’ve been a mood reader for a long time but am trying my best to focus on finishing one book before starting another one. So far, it’s been going well! But part of me does kinda miss juggling four books like it’s a perfectly reasonable life choice.

What's your most controversial book-related opinion?
February 22, 2025 at 5:28 PM
Small reading win: I finished my fourth book of the year on Wednesday🥹 That may not seem like much, but after barely reading anything the last few years, I'm so excited to be on track! Actually, I'm ahead of my reading goals!

What’s a reading win you’re proud of lately? Tell me and let’s celebrate!
