I really don’t think it’s appropriate for the Lions to call up a clubs third choice tight head who has never been able to make the squad for a European cup knockout game. I have to confess that the English and Leinster Lions is not a team I can get behind

Correct - how can you have centrally contracted players who are not good enough to start for their club? IRFU got the system right initially but are making a mess of it now. Salary cap is the next thing we can expect.

The days when you could play rugby at a high level with half a game are gone. Props need to do more than scrummage, forwards are expected to catch and pass, and everyone has to be able to tackle. If he had tackled Pollack, Leinster would have won

It appears that Ulster players are completely overlooked. It’s my opinion that this Irish management team has undone the good work of the previous decade by encouraging young players to leave Ireland as they will have no shot at an international career

I think the first team selections are mostly made up of the best available players (although we persist with players best their best). The extended squad does not reflect the countries talent and for that reason we are screwed going forward as the team has to change

I would be very happy for Leinster to play Sam as much as possible in the coming years (but that’s because I’m a Munster fan)

Sam P is your man if you are playing weak teams - so I would start him against Italy if we feel we can dominate up front - as for Gavin Coombes - well you need a management team that can produce their own game plans instead of deploying the Leinster one. Farrell &Co are a disaster
