Like hell, we were there once upon a time. SJA and Class both had Doctor cameos, and then you had Torchwood doing its own thing.

Then things went to shit. BBC fucked up renewing Torchwood, Liz Sladen sadly died, and they released Class exclusively on iPlayer which no one was watching at the time.

It's time Doctor Who went the way it Star Trek. Other shows in this universe, where maybe different incarnations of the Doctor can pop up once in a while.

Technically I said "tell other stories in this universe, just not with this person".

The Doctor has had their time. They're no longer interesting. They've become an "everything person" which isn't at all interesting in sci-fi. They QUITE LITERALLY pull things out of thin air sometimes, that's dull.

Everything has to, and should end. That's LITERALLY the messaging of Doctor Who for many seasons of the show.

But hey, gotta milk the cow.

Eventually the Doctor HAS to stop running, and they did... Until they didn't because bigeneration...

The Doctor being the causes for so many traditions across time and space is great, but eventually even the Doctor themselves has a limit. The Doctor isn't at all how I feel you might be portraying them in your head. We've seen the Doctor have their limits in both Classic and New Who.

Agree to disagree. Also, you're implying the Doctor visits every single children in the universe as "Santa" across all time which, even in this universe, would be a reach. They may have played the role, but that's doesn't mean they remained in it. They just became the driving inspiration.

The doctor *was* those things once upon a time. But as I said, everything should come to an end eventually and if you were going to end it, this would be it IMO.

But that's the point of the character and why the Doctor kept coming to earth. It was their fascination with humans and how magnificent they saw of us, and so to ultimately settle down into what would be a human experience, especially THIS incarnation of the Doctor, is nothing short of beautiful.

The problem with that though is that the doctor's story went on for too long. Literally how much more could you tell with this character? At some point you need to bring everything to a close, to have it go on forever would be nuts. Tell other stories in this universe, not just with this one person.

The Doctor has always been running, literally their whole life. Their whole life has been making connections with people and then breaking them off because of reasons and then trauma happens. The Doctor finally getting to live their life with someone they travelled with feels poetic and perfect IMO.
