Shadowtober Entry 10: Arakumo

Frequency: Indevidual

Entity type: Eldritch Monstrosity

Threat Level: 7
Bio: Among the oldest and most powerful of the Eldritch Monstrosities, Arakumo is a force to be reckoned with. He is almost as old as the Malice King, but found his strength in the fear of spiders rather than darkness. He can split himself almost infinitely down to smaller forms, but his true form is enormous, around 75 meters(247 feet) in diameter. Despite his animalistic appearence, he’s just as sapient as the other eldritch monstrosities, cold, calculating, devoid of humor, and every bit as evil as the others. He’s among the Eldritch Monstrosities that most often eat humans, and he is sure to take his time with them, watching as the venom puts them through hell, or slowly dissolving them, but by bit. He lives in a huge forested part of the Shadow of Reality, where he has spun a massive web, several kilometers in diameter. Abilities: aside from being able to split apart into smaller forms, Arakumo’s venom is incredibly potent, and can have a variety of effects, the most horrible one being literally ejecting hundreds of tiny spiders into his victims skin, crawling around and bursting out from under it. He can also generate an infinite amount of webs, which are near impossible to escape, as well as cast spells of various kinds. Weakness: Just like his lesser forms, fire magic is the only way to do any substantial damage.

Shadowtober Entry 9: Dividrons

Frequency: Rare

Entity type: Native Inhabitants

Threat Level: 3
Bio: Dividrons are flying creatures native to the Shadow of Reality, who have existed since its creation. They are usually around 11-12 meters in length. The throat of their vertical jaws has a large glowing eye-like organ in them, which is what they use to consume their primary food source: souls. The many teeth in their mouths is moreso to hold their prey in place as their soul is consumed, than actually shredding them apart, though they are fully capable of that as well. Abilities: They can fly through the air with no constraints of physics holding them back. They can also utilize the souls they’ve eaten to cadt various types of spells modstæy unique to the Dividrons. Weakness: While having no particular weakness among the magic types, aiming an attack at their soul sucker organ will be very effective.

Shadowtober Entry 8: Arbiters

Frequency: Rare

Entity type: Unknown

Threat Level: 1 (4 if you are a mage)
Bio: The Arbiters are sentinals of Order in the greater universe, enforcers of the balance between the Light Side and the Shadow of Reality. They were created a very long time ago by the Overseer of the Grey Spire’s usage of a mysterious artifact. They eventually broke away from him, as they were not content with simply guarding the spire, and saw it more efficient to enforce order throughout the universe, with only a few remaining at the Spire. Their base of operations contains an enormous, complicated bureaucracy that is incredibly tedious to go through for anything that isn’t an arbiter. Arbiters are all simply reffered to by their number assigned to them from the order they were created in. Abilities: Arbiters are very skilled at magic, each one being particularly skilled at specific types of magic. Four, the leader of the deserter arbiters, can create weapons out of portal matter, and arms their subordinates with them. These blades can cut through just about everything, with very few exceptions. Weakness: While arbiters do not have a specific weakness, they are far from invinvible, and can be killed with powerful enough magic. One thing to note, is that some arbiters have a tendency to underestimate their opponents, which can be used against them

Shadowtober Entry: 7: Hydro Shapes

Frequency: Uncommon

Entity type: Eldritch Subordinate

Threat Level: 3
Bio: Eerie water creatures, and one of the main subordinates of the Eldritch Monstrosity of the dark sea. Some believe them to be derived from souls of people who have drowned, but the process of their creation is still somewhat unknown. Hydro Shapes can only manifest in water, or damp areas, and cannot tread on dry land, making rain the only time they can roam land freely. As is the case with every subordinate they are almost as evil as their master. Abilities: Hydro Shapes can look like any dark silhouette in the water they wish, achieving near perfect camouflage. When prey is caught, they wrap themselves around them, and usully bite ahold of them as well, either dragging them into the abyss, or suffocating them by filling their lungs with water. One thing that is consistent, is that their victims deaths are almost always the result of drowning. Weakness: While direct fire is naturally uneffective to them, extreme heat and dryness is the most effective way of destroying them.

Shadowtober Entry 6: The Overseer Of The Great Grey Spire

Frequency: Indevidual

Entity type: unknown

Threat Level: 1 (7 should he see you as a threat to the Spire)
Bio: The Great Grey Spire is a massive structure found in the Center of the Shadow of Reality. It serves as the only permanent way to travel between it and the Light Side. Within this Spire, its Overseer resides. Not much is known about him, only that he seems to be as ancient as the Shadow of Reality itself, and is near all-knowing. He oversees not just the Spire, but both realms it bridges together, his eighteen eye clad tentacles stretching out to the corners of them, to observe the ongoings in each, however, he never interferes in anything that happens outside the Spire. He has deeper insights into most things in the Shadow of Reality and its inhabitants than any other entity. The Overseer is a fully neutral entity, showing no hostility to man or monster alike, so long as the spire is not threatened, in which case, his true terrifying power would be on full display. Abilities: The Overseer can rip open portals like it is nothing, and knows every spell ever written down. On top of that, he even has access to abilities that seemingly perfectly replicate both Eldritch Monstrosities and their oppositions, something no other entity can do. It is unknown what the full extent of his abilities are. Weakness: No known weakness. The only thing that could be seen as one, is that the Overseer never leaves the Spire.

Shadowtober Entry 4: Ringmaster Deathrattles, aka, “Rattles the Clown”

Frequency: Individual

Entity type: Eldritch Monstrosity

Threat Level: 6
Bio - Rattles is among the younger of Eldritch Monstrosities, and even so, he’s over four thousand years old. Like how the Malice King utilizes the fear of darkness, he utilizes the fear of clowns. He was rather weak for most of his existence, but the increased fear of clowns in the last half century has made him more powerful than ever. He’s just as evil as the other Eldritch Monstrosities, but while the others are always working towards their greater goals, Rattles mostly just cares about his own amusement. His favorite past-time is having his henchmen kidnap a large group of people, and putting on macarbe shows for them, almost every performance number consisting of picking someone from the crowd to participate, only to brutally maim them. This show will keep going until someone in the crowd laughs, in which they will be let go, and never be bothered by the clowns again. If you give an obviously fake laugh though, Rattles will kill you on the spot. He stands at about 9 feet tall. Abilities - Rattles abilities mostly consist of various demented perversions of common clown skits. He can pop his head and arms out on springs like a jack in the box, throws exploding presents like bombs, and can make a bunch of monstrous flowers grow out of his mouth, that spray acid on his victims, just to mention a few. The true extent of his abilities is unknown. Weakness - Sound-based magic is the most effective against him, especially taking away his own ability to laugh or speak will do a lot of damage to him.

Shadowtober Entry 4: Arakumo’s lesser forms

Frequency: uncommon

Entity type: Eldritch Monstrosity (lesser form)

Threat Level: 3
Bio - Arakumo is one of the great Eldritch Monstrosities that live in the Shadow of Reality, an entity that feeds primarily on the fear of spiders. His lesser forms come in many iterations, all of which resemble various spider species, from Orb Weavers to Funnel Webs. Sizes of his lesser forms can vary from as small as a normal spider, to the size of a bus. His true form however, is enormous. Abilities - Unlike others of his kin, Arakumo’s “subordinates” simply stem from him having the ability to split himself into smaller versions of himself. He sometimes splits into an entire swarm of smaller spiders to overwhelm opponents. He also has an incredibly potent venom that can do a variety of things, such as rotting your skin, boiling your insides, or making you hallucinate spiders everywhere you look. Weakness - Fire magic is the only effective way to do damage, as he can repair wounds instantly, and shrugs off regular fire.

Shadowtober Entry 3: Soil Dwellers

Frequency: common (Elderfangs are rare)

Entity type: Native Inhabitants

Threat Level: 3 (4 for Elderfangs)
Bio - Soil Dwellers are carnivorous giant worms with many heads sprouting from their body, each with maws lined with sharp teeth. They can grow to be around 6 to 7 meters in length. They reproduce by one of their extra heads eventually detaching itself, becoming its own entity. Sometimes a head with four extra long fangs will sprout. This head grows larger than all the others, eventually absorbing all life from all other heads, including the original worm, growing enormous in size, the few new heads it gains being unable to detach and under the main worms full control. These are called Elderfang Soil Dwellers, and are way stronger than the normal variants. Their size has been estimated to be as much as 40 meters in length Abilities - they burrow through the soul, ambushing prey from underground, and after reaching a certain size, they can spit acidic clumps of soil out if their mouths. The Elderfangs have various odd supernatural abilities, their most notable being the ability to burry in and out of reality. It is currently unknown if they can burry straight into the light side, but if they could, the consequences would be devastating. Weakness - the acidic mucus they secrete makes them quite flammable, especially on the inside. regular fire can kill younger soil dwellers, though magical fire is recommended for larger individuals.

Shadowtober Entry 2: Dark Echoes

Frequency: common - very rare

Entity type: Native Inhabitants

Threat Level: 1 - 2

Bio - The Dark Echoes are strange creatures that inhabits the wilds of the Shadow of Reality. They come in many different shapes and sizes, as well as different behaviors. One thing they all have in common, is their uncanny resemblances to animals from the Light Side that have gone extinct. Some like the Megaloceros are peaceful gracing herbivores, while others, such as the Tyrannosaurus, can prove dangerous, should they see you as pray or as a threat. Abilities - Dark Echoes are more resilient and stronger than their Light Side counterparts, as well as their supernatural properties allowing them to bypass and actually be capable of harming creatures that would otherwise have immunities to physical damage. Other than that, their abilities depend intirely on the animal they resemble. Weakness - while more resilient as stated before, Dark Echoes can still be killed with enough harm done to them, though physical weapons don’t phase them much. Magic is the most effective way to kill a Dark Echo.

Bio - The Shadowlings are entities that resemble shadowy humanoid shillouettes. They are the primary subordinates of the Malice King, being created by his own hands, either by making a deal with him, or being forcefully transformed. They are unconditionally loyal to him, and nearly just as cruel, taking joy in the fear and suffering of humans. Abilities - Shadowlings can hide inside of shadows, perfectly concealed to ambush their victims, their preffered method of killing being via their claws and teeth. Weakness - Shadowlings cannot be harmed by physical means, such as fists, knives, or bullets, but are very weak to light. A flash of normal light can stun them or weaken them, while magical light is needed to fully destroy them.
