We’ve gotten to know each other in bursts. Our last year involves stuff that happened when we were like 13, but that makes sense to both of us. Time makes sense to her the way it does to me.

She is so fucking beautiful in a way that shines out of her core the way light shines through a hand when you hold it over a flashlight. I can barely see any of it from the outside but she glows so warm and so bright and I can see the structure underneath that makes her who she is and I love her

I don’t have to explain myself to her. I tell her who I am and she kisses me in the places I shine a light on

She gets me on a level that “she get me” doesn’t even begin to get at. We met as very repressed teenagers, but she looked into my eyes and saw me in a way none of the cis people I’d been surrounded by had ever done
