I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Because what the world actually needs, according to games companies, is another 19,346 open world, Rogue-like Metroidvania games.

Somehow, it still manages to look futuristic even today.

“Mom, we’re thinking of resurrecting you as some kind of perverted, virtual flesh marionette when you die. Is that okay?”
“Er…”

Tudor pickled onion crisps were stellar, as were the smokey bacon.
The TV ads were great too…
*unintelligible Geordie nonsense*
“Wey aye man! Tudor crisps bonny lad!”
*more unintelligible Geordie nonsense*

Legit had never heard of Walkers until the Lineker TV ads. It was GW, Smiths and Tudor round my way.

Ooh, cheers for the heads up there! Of course, Outlook managed to conveniently send Microsoft’s email to my junk folder. Just downgraded my subscription to Premium for now, while I evaluate if even that’s worth bothering with.

Yep. The trailer referring to the original game as a “classic” is just a tiny bit optimistic as well.

I’ve regularly been found in the darker corners of my basement muttering things like “Where’s that box of C64’s?” “I’m sure that 486 motherboard is around here somewhere!” and “Bloody hell, where did I put that VCS?!”

We’ve all been there…

But! “Interest free” credit! We absolutely do not build the interest into the overall price instead! No siree!

Pretty sure Kays catalogue sold CPCs without the monitor too. I distinctly remember seeing them back in the day.
October 25, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Does that have an effect on value these days? If I was buying Speccy games I don’t think I’d really care whether the game actually loaded or not, seeing as there are far easier and more convenient ways of loading them into a machine nowadays.

Ooh, some nice ones there. Centipod and Darius+ have got to be fairly uncommon.

That’s a @brianwoolfinder.bsky.social wet dream right there.

Could literally be almost anything. Shops were duplicating and selling 8-bit games this way in the early 90’s - EDOS it was called. I have several from a number of different publishers.

“We won’t disrespect our top brand of chocolates with second rate ingredients!”
*pause*
“So here’s a new brand we’re absolutely happy to disrespect the *shit* out of.”

Drive.

The presentation put a lot of full price games to shame, to be honest.
October 5, 2025 at 2:47 PM
I remember that issue well. Played the UFO demo and went out and bought the game pretty much straight away.

Are we worse than Gretna? We’re worse than Gretna, aren’t we?

Did… did they make the text the same colour as the background in the Impossamole review?!
(Let’s just completely ignore the fact that they gave dross like Impossamole 80% in the first place.)
