Remember that before Bruce Lee said "Be Water," a tactical lesson current era movements have tried to follow since Hong Kong, it was Sun Tzu in The Art of War.

As further national guard deployments loom, along with ongoing DHS human snatching ops, I keep thinking about this sentence from T Derbent (who came to my attention as the author of a history of The German Communist Resistance against fascism).

Obviously they are serious about the hiring drive. But their Gestapo recruitment posters are goofy af. Interesting they lean into the supposed-to-be badass women images, while the suited men look dweeby. Anyway I thought the LA Times story on limits to ICE hiring was 👍

As many have been feeling the impact of Joshua Clover's passing, revisiting his Little Book of Riot, it will become essential to read Jasper's book alongside it, as in part a tribute to their camaraderie.

In "Convivir, a Synonym for Commune?" my latest on @journalspectre.bsky.social I wrote about @city.bsky.social & Leonardo Vilchis's Abolish Rent & Kristin Ross's The Commune Form, starting from a revived communist theme via @tenantpower.bsky.social—the abolition of the separation of town and country

Heard through the TANC grapevine that today Oakland students skipped school en masse, protesting federal raids targeting immigrants, with some marches happening. This photo was reported taken in Fruitvale. Often in years past Oakland youth have been among our 1st to mobilize.

Yesterday I saw complaints about the annually recycled Marx & Gramsci on New Years, so I went looking among writings of classic communists & anarchists for something old but fresh. Turning first to Rosa Luxemburg's letters did not disappoint—"see that you remain a human being."

Hard to see the tragedy except for the pseudo-cult of Bernie + associated grifts. The genocide is utterly tragic, but Palestine solidarity has begun the revival of mass internationalism among the socialist, communist, & anarchist left, a consequence of far greater importance.

Much of the work from Bonney's successor blog, the tumbrl Gods of the Plague, can be read in his wonderful Our Death (free: communeeditions.com/our-death-se...). This, "from, 'Heroes,'" cannot. godsoftheplague.tumblr.com/post/1879978...

In another vein from another decade, associated with the harder to come by book Baudelaire in English, are the series of Notes on Baudelaire from 2006. The first in the image, the rest here abandonedbuildings.blogspot.com/2006/

Of most immediate use, on Abandoned Buildings abandonedbuildings.blogspot.com/search?q=rea..., were these 2 rev poetics lists. The big tips for me there were Bakunin's "Letters to a Frenchman" to read w/ Rimbaud's letter, RAF's Urban Guerilla Concept w/ Lorca on Duende, & Celan/Vallejo together.

I'm compiling readings for a currently imaginary, hopefully eventually real, workshop on revolutionary poetry & prose. So naturally I fell into the incredible black hole of the martyr Sean Bonney's blogs (which, like, he posted it all). Here I share a few findings.

I probably won't post much of this sort of thing here, but I'm feeling anxiety around this first post, so—in the past month or so I've taken up drawing more seriously than I ever have. Here are a few things I've drawn that I kinda like.
