A team led by the Carlsberg Research Laboratory and involving the @leibnizipk.bsky.social has now identified how different versions of the MKK3 gene affect seed dormancy and sprouting risk in barley.

Looking back several thousand years into plant domestication (and therewith human) history, based on DNA sequence information. This is one of those science stories that are even fun to read (if you are a #barley nerd, maybe).
