I also wasnt a huge fan of how I was doing the eyes, they felt pretty off. when I went back to practice them again I feel like something kind of clicked (maybe not lol) I was able to focus on the planes of the eye a lot better, and I feel like I was lacking on that before which was super cool

I had a lot of fun doing these studies, I feel like there were a lot of things I learned. for the hair I really focused on trying to practice being more loose with it and then focusing on where it originates, the flow, how it overlaps, and imagining ribbons.

yo that looks really good, this show doesn't get enough fan art😤

it takes me around 20 mins to draw one of these heads and I do kind of feel the anxiousness before I draw one still. almost like I'm worried I forgot how to do it every time lol. so I'll probably keep working on just this part for today and then hopefully move onto something like hair/ears tomorrow.

finished this up yesterday. I started practicing drawing the head with the nose studies I did before. I am really happy with how some of these came out.

for the practice I was using the asaro head to try and learn the planes of the face and I also used screenshots from frieren to see how artists stylize it. I'm pretty excited for the new season so good chance it'll influence my future studies lol

did some practice of the nose yesterday. I think I made some progress but its still pretty confusing so I'll do some more practice today, probably incorporating it with the full head so I can keep working on that as well.

I'm going to keep working on the form of the face but I want to start focusing more on the nose as well. I'll probably leave hair for another day when I'm more confident about the other parts.

this ended up fairly helpful with seeing what I need to work on. I really can't visualize the form of the nose and hair, which especially makes the idea of rending the face feel impossible.

so I feel more confident with the head form and the eyes. I think that I'm making the eyelashes a bit thicker than I want so I'll focus on keeping those thinner. I also got kinda impatient again and tried to see if I could do the full head.

I've been using the asaro head to practice the form of the eyes and studying other artists. this is my first time actually studying the forms and there have been a lot of cool things I learned. there were tons of things I just did without really knowing why so finding that out has been cool.

this is from past few days, still not completely there yet with the head but I am def more happy with it. I started working on practicing the form of the eyes again as well. my main focus will still be the head but I do want to have fun and mix it up as well.

the idea of finding the rhythms in the face was pretty cool and I feel like I learned a bit more about the loomis method again. either way I'm going to keep working on this until hopefully that uneasy feeling about drawing the head is basically gone. the practice ended up fairly fun at the end too

it started off p frustrating tbh, I felt like I was back at the beginning with nothing to really show, but after practicing a bit more I felt like I found a way of understanding it that worked for me. I kind of mesh the 2 ideas together while incorporating the form studies I did at the start.

I went back to learning about the structure of the face with the idea that I want them to feel so easy that its boring, and then draw 100 more. This really helped because I watched videos on loomis/reilly rhythms.
January 10, 2026 at 3:14 AM
I knew in the back of my head that I didn't really understand the structure of the face still. Thinking about doing another head construction felt daunting because I didn't really know what I was/am doing.

yesterday I noticed I was getting impatient, I tried to move onto learning about the eyes and even attempted to see if I could just draw a face. weirdly this helped a bit because I really didn't like how the face came out, and made me realize I was trying to rush things.
