Attended a web dev meetup today and a discussion around the problems of big frameworks evolved. Most of the group thought the next shiny framework will solve all of the pain for good. They later admitted they had the same hope in the past .. multiple times .. and until noe always got disappointed.
Probably the best part of it: no breaking changes -- ever!
Just finished upgrading a client project we haven't touched for two years. It uses webpack and React 🙈 Wouldn't have to do that if we chose boring tech back then. Now, finally, I can start implementing the new features.

I really like the web platform. Just good old HTML, CSS, and bits of JavaScript. No fancy React, Angular or anything else. Modern browsers are so capable 💛

More and more I get the feeling that employees are the real high-risk takers. Not much leverage, often nothing special they learn. Founders might find gold, or at least get a decent education in basic economics, marketing, and probably end up with a higher-value network than ordinary employees.
I used to think startup founders were “special” or super high risk takers but honestly there is nothing special other then they just tried and put themselves out there with an idea 💡 and there isn’t a high barrier to entry. #buildinpublic
