Look - there is no way you are going to get the public to go along with a degrowth agenda. We’ll burn fossil fuels out or spite before we go along with that. If you want to decrease fossil fuel emissions you need to replace it and then some. Abundance is your only choice.

This is the kind of data point I’m looking at. Need to see diversity of opinion. Way too little of that so far - but I’m optimistic. Unlike, say, Truth Social there is some good mainstream content here.

The network effect is a difficult boss to beat. We'll see. So far my take on BSKY is that it's a better version of Truth Social. Has that echo chamber feel but there are also a lot of legitimate non super-partisan content providers as well which TS doesn't have.

I had unrestricted access in my early teens to what existed before the internet. A whole bunch of hacker / pirate BBS's. And it got awfully expensive to connect to them with long distance phone rates as they were - unless you figured out how to obtain and use stolen phone cards. Heh. :)
