Pretty willfully blind to believe a system that has already been tried multiple times and has led to abject misery and death is better than the one we currently have that has enabled longer life spans and dramatically improved quality of life.

It has lifted billions out of poverty globally. If they are doing better than without it, they aren’t slaves. Does it guarantee some won’t take advantage of others? Nope. But it’s the best thing we’ve come up with so far

Yeah looks like the higher pay and lower taxes in the US might be draining some to the south too. So many variables.

Back in the 80s and 90s the US system was pretty cherry by comparison. I paid $14 to have my first child and that was to get a private phone line in the room. Way better than the massive grift of tax dollars we have now with the ACA.
