I've looked for ages before but could only find one they prevents switching from "Script". But would love to know if there's another setting that got introduced later!

As usual, these are all made primarily for internal use on Penguin Festival, and provided for the Godot community to use as they wish, but I won't be providing any official support. 🙏

Whatever the issue is, it got introduced in 4.4. So at some point, there *was* validation on the editor side.

Exactly yeah. See the attached GitHub link for more details. As I said, mostly harmless. It can however end up with things being null at runtime when they don't look like they're null when you're in the editor.
