Full disclosure. I worked in govt. in three GOP states in 10yrs; am I to believe that white folks who need and receive food stamps don't know they need food stamps? I met lots of people black and white who had to supplement their Walmart salaries with Federal food and other govt. support assistance.

Brilliant answer my friend! But I'm 74 years old, and I swear I'm trying (having read a lot of Marxist thinkers) to figure out how they've been "duped" and for such a long time. Is there an expiration date on being duped, especially when you are losing your living-well societal safety net programs?

It's an uphill battle when the POTUS can invent a fake South African white suffering/oppressed class, fast-track them into US MAGA membership and it's carried on all news media outlets, with only the weak response of: "There's no evidence of white..." How about "The POTUS is not telling the truth!"

And so, the question is: Why do poor, working and middle-class white Americans continue to support them?
