I read that book until it fell apart. Then I got a replacement (2006 edition) just to have some easy non-dinosaur reference for common species.

They could have replaced the Mutadon with an unknown giant Scansoriopterygid -- real bat-winged dinosaurs. That would have been better.
Seeing this after the director claimed "People are bored with Dinosaurs these days" and having that be a plot point makes me feel better.

When you look at the monsters in both, you might initially think the newer series (right) has better monsters. But there's a big problem between the two.
