Rewatching this. Nolan needs to remake this exactly the same but with Eliot now. Have a bunch of small dudes and Tom Hardy looming over them all. It changes very little other than making one moment into the twink kiss it always was.

Nearly 40 years now of thinking Penny’s computer book from Inspector Gadget is the pinnacle of tech and desperately wanting one.

Just rewatched Pump up the Volume, and for all its delights and its flaws, more than anything, it really makes me so pissed off at my dumb-ass generation for pivoting so hard to the right.

Watched this tonight. A lot of fun. Technical comments aside (the writers thought this was going to be an anime with no budget constraints?) I will give it an 8 out of 10. Knows what it is, has some fun clever jokes, and legit chemistry with the buddy pairing. BUT! 1/2.

Early Modern Peeps. Does anyone know of a good breakdown / discussion of the famous Mary Frith / Moll Cutpurse woodcut?

A boy in his natural habitat: roller skating to Hot to Go. (Picture taken from the sidelines for safety as I am not as agile as I once was).

Day after my birthday so watched this with my kid and sobbed my eyes out as the gods intended.

On my birthday today, I post this, the most perfect picture ever taken of me. Honestly, looking at this now with what I know, it is a wonder it took this kid another 4 decades to realize he was autistic.

Finally watched this one tonight. A sobbing mess.

Introducing the kiddo to his first OG Star Trek episode, “Devil in the Dark”

Watched this one for the first time tonight. Thinking hard about the world building. Ignores the usual movie rules (cutting the characters to a minimum) and instead goes maximalist on characters because of a huge implied history that somehow does not make the audience feel bad not knowing.

Watched this one tonight with virtually no knowledge. Did not know why the algorithm was pointing me that way. Ended ugly crying. 5/5.

It is Friday Night. It is Summer. This movie is falling off free streaming in a week. Why not? (German Poster because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

My first pick, New Adventures in Hi-Fi turned out to be only 13 years after Murmur (!!) but this is also a worthy choice:

Sorry I am late to this post (I was out of town) but I would kill someone for a Maryville College one with our Scots logo. It would look deeply awesome for a team that would struggle to beat the city High School team.

As an “old,” I just finished watching and live blogging (?) Enemy of the State (as part of my Hackman memorial rewatch) on Facebook. Should I move that kind of thing to here or is that just too woefully uncool for this platform?

Up late to keep an eye on the weather tonight and saw that The Wild Wild West (the series that inspired THAT movie) was on Pluto TV for free. Did not expect to see in less than 30 seconds that it was an inspiration for Cowboy Bebop.

The one cat sized box by my workspace was replaced with a two cat sized box. At first, there were hissing shouts fights, but they seem to have been resolved.

Long time Star Trek lover, but realized recently that I never saw all the Original Series episodes, and certainly never saw them in any semblance of order. Been really enjoying myself so far, but now I am hurtling into the budget cut Season 3 with the exemplary episode Spock's Brain:
