Amazing that they straight-faced admit they can’t keep up with the demands of the job

Yeah. I appreciate the human frailty part. AND it’s easy to overlook sometimes.
That commander was a rising star, everyone loved him. I gotta wonder about what that life does to a person.

Reminds me of when I caught my ex-husband in an affair.
One of his most memorable comments, “I deserve this!”

A while back I was a volunteer with our neighborhood “citizens on patrol” which included interacting with BPD. They mostly seemed great. But then some of Baltimore’s finest from our precinct were involved in so many scandals. Their commander wasn’t even filing his federal tax returns! 😖

Portland!!! Love em or hate em, I really think everyone secretly wishes (at least occasionally) they were that cool

From Wikipedia,
“October 2025, Wilkins performed the national anthem before a pro-wrestling event in State College, Pennsylvania. Patel used the FBI's private jet to attend the event. The next day, Patel took the jet to Nashville, where Wilkins lives.”
They call her his “domestic partner”

Were you PD? Curious to hear your experiences.
We’ve seen some crazy things here (watch or read “We Own This City” and that’s just one case).
It seems to me that the concept of “brotherhood” is way too intense among police officers. I get the whole thing of supporting your teammates, but

I doubt they paying attention in class

I don’t know (nobody really does), but here’s what I’m curious about — one group was so peripatetic but it sounds like the other wasn’t. Maybe the folks who traveled a lot were tough and aggressive and outlasted the folks who were settled and agreeable.
One version of things…
November 25, 2025 at 2:22 AM
Not precisely. The folks from Africa (Homo sapiens) left Africa in large numbers and according to the environmental conditions they came and went many times over the centuries. Back and forth back and forth. In that process lots happened.

Not sure what the reference is regarding virus.
I use the word “extinct” in that there are no more true Neanderthals, though most of us have a bit of their genes.
So I’m thinking they were very appealing folk since so much interaction obviously occurred between them and the Homo sapiens.

We’re talking about a time period that much precedes the period you’re referencing — when Homo sapiens first left Africa and encountered the Neanderthals
November 23, 2025 at 5:21 AM
When that extinction occurred we were all basically the same color. I’m not discounting color, maybe it is more like a “tribe” concept.
Interesting theory we’re developing…
