It took just a few hours for Assad’s forces to collapse in Hama. Absolutely insane events happening right now.

Hey folks, you know how @iftas is doing so much heavy lifting bringing CSAM detection and really thoughtful shared-but-not-centralized moderation tools to the Fediverse?

And the needs surveys, and the wonderful library of resources, and the moderation community to help keep everyone ahead of […]

It’s fresh snow season, which means that we can see bicycle tracks and bike lane usage in # Toronto again. A very well-used bike lane, even in snowy weather!

Doing the deep dive into Christopher Alexander's A Pattern Language, which puts forward a theory of urban development (but also much much more). And now I'm dying to know what @davidwengrow.bsky.social has to say about it.

How absurd is it that I live in downtown #toronto, but it’s easier for me to go to # kitchener to buy Middle Eastern groceries, carry 3 heavy bags on the bus then train, than to go to the nearest Middle Eastern store, which happens to be in Scarborough? This is what bad planning policy looks like.

There's a lot more of my urbanist friends on Bluesky, but I still prefer the fediverse and Mastodon. But I kinda want to have my cake and eat it too, so I'm trying out @openvibe today.

Does anybody here know of an open source project that - while using a traditional license - enforces other social rules or makes political, ethical or social norms for the intended use of the project explicit and has any forms of consequences for disobedience?

Think: "This project […]
