Krewe du Vieux rolls! We march and dance and claim these streets tonight with even more of our sociopolitical satire because this is what we are fighting for. Let’s remember the krewe’s philosophy following Katrina: Preserve our culture and heritage first, and the recovery will follow. #NOLASky

Reported a Google Maps content error: This portion of the Gulf of Mexico is erroneously labeled. The Gulf of America does not extend beyond the southern maritime boundary between the US and Mexico. If you’re going to do it, do it correctly. Higher accuracy generates greater use.

Back in the olden days when DEI was all the rage, at least we women got awards for being Resilient in a male-dominated industry (“nothing will change but keep going on your own steam, atta girl”).

Welp after 2+ years of disuse, the old Xitter account has been completely deactivated and the app deleted. May take down my Mastodon instance, too. I now tend to make these decisions slowly after The Great Flickr Debacle of 2021.

Studying this beautiful new hydrologic map of the contiguous USA by @milos-makes-maps.bsky.social. Fluvial hydrologists, is there a resource where one can calculate how long a tracer dropped in, say, the Wisconsin River would take to reach the mouth of the Mississippi? #geology #hydrology
