It's not just political with Trump, it's personal. He has had it in for Zelensky since his first term when he threatened to withhold aid from Ukraine in 2019, because Zelensky refused to dish any dirt on Joe Biden's son Hunter prior to the 2020 elections - which Biden went on to win.
