Congrats on such an incredible season Dawei! You were really my first friend in VG with all the local drives last year before I really knew anyone and I’m thankful to have gotten to know you and learn from you! Age is just a number and I’m sure you will accomplish whatever you set out to do #RIVGC

I told myself I was not going to grind a worlds invite this year and would focus on these goals, but I managed to stay within T75 all year. It wasn’t fun slipping in rank after EUIC since Bologna was the only major I attended afterwards, but overall I’m really proud of my season.

My quantitative goals this season were:
1. Get my first top cut (Sacramento ✅ San Antonio✅)
2. Get my first IC day 2 (EUIC ✅)

Qualitatively my goals were to have fun, improve as a player, and build/test more with friends.

Qualifying in 2024 was something I’d wanted to do since 2010. When I finally did at Indy 2024 I couldn’t believe it, but it was a grind and it’s all I focused on that season. This season I had no clue if I could qualify again, and I wanted to set different goals for myself.

It also shows that if the same system had been in place last year I wouldn’t have come close to qualifying for Honolulu. All that said I grew a ton this year and getting my invite this year was actually way less stressful than before because my goal wasn’t to qualify at all.

What my previous post shows is that if I’d had the same season I had this year, last year instead, I would have finished 21st in NA. This year those finishes equated to 58th place showing how much further players had to push to get their invites this season with the new system.

This is a direct comparison to last year. CP payout/BFL were all changed this year so looking at CP this year vs last head on doesn’t really tell the full story.

Next, I wanted to share the breakdown of how I earned my invite between Majors, Locals, and GC’s. I used a google sheet to keep track of my BFL’s throughout the year. It also includes paste, notes, and regulation.
