Max Ernst, Dorothea Tanning, Juliet (Browner), and Man Ray [1946, Lee Miller Archives]

I turn the postcard around and find a dedication to a couple (I assume - Marlyn? and Leo) in Paris, signed by Juliet (I also assume), dated 1984. Juliet died in 1991 and is buried at the Montparnasse Cemetery (3/3).

Man Ray and Juliet got married in 1944 in a double wedding with Max Ernst and Dorothea Tanning. So, I'm flipping through the book and see this... a postcard, nested between the pages of her full page portrait (2/3)

Things that make me happy: this is Juliet, from the cover on Man Ray's book, the 50 faces of Juliet. I found the book in Italian in a second hand bookstore in the US. Juliet was an American dancer who met Man Ray in a club in LA in the early 1940s. (1/3)
