The FMS includes the refurbishment and upgrade of 555 M1A1 tanks to M1A1SA, with all upgrades and enhancements to be carried out domestically in Egypt at the Military Factory 200. Notably, Egypt remains the only country in the world, outside the United States, to produce Abrams MBTs.
