You've technically only fought robots up until that point. And it becomes a major turning point. Is saving humanity. Worth. Killing a human. And crossing that line. Ugh. It's so fucking good. And this shit originally released on the GBA????

The ultimate villain even uses his own "humanity" as a weapon against the main robot, zero, despite being effectively nothing more than a brain in a jar at that point. A cyborg. Yet zero, a robot has shown far more humanity than him the entire game. "Will you kill a human zero?"

Yeah MegaMan zero has one of my hands down favorite stories about robots. It's wrapped up in a fun hack and slash game too so it's win win

Toru Nakayama 's style for the series is SO memorable and iconic. All the robots feel thought out, piece by piece and real

Yeah!! MegaMan zero collection is on switch and very accessible now

Like you said when you get past the trope of like aRe thEy AliVe and actually get to the meat and potatoes stories can do some really fun stuff with the medium and relationships/dynamics with robots
August 29, 2025 at 6:56 PM
And they had fun with their Robotness when you sliced em open and saw their insides all like. Drawn haha! And copy x being like. Glitchy. Having digital ghosts. Copies. Originals. So they played to the strengths of robot characters never once going "are they sentient?" That was *assumed*
August 29, 2025 at 6:54 PM
And you saw humans and robots work together on one side, and robots exclusively work together on another side. It was interesting to see the dynamics come forth. One understanding the positives of the other and the other being blind and being like we're the only one that matters. Both sides.

It was treated just like England versus America I suppose is what I am getting at, one people trying to gain their freedom from another.
August 29, 2025 at 6:50 PM
Yeah I think it's what I appreciated about the MegaMan zero games so much. Yes there was a humans versus robots war but the robots were treated effectively like another race simple as that. Wanting freedom and their own kingdom. That's what any human would want. It wasn't really a sentence thing

I mean like...anatomy text book yeah?
