He was someone who, despite his limitations and occasional poor movie choices, did commit to working with some of the best in the business. Setting aside Wright simply missing, the other two remakes were helmed by bland, lame as hell workmen who had no personal touch to their craft.

Kinda do feel that being adequate is a detriment in this case given Wright’s status as a director. I wonder if it’s a studio issue, a misfire from him, or a mix of both.

There are about 18-20 shorts from the 33-64 period that these releases tend to cover that need restoration and would probably be under consideration.

I find it funny that I only got around to watching JP for the first time 2 years ago (it was worth it since I saw it in 3d in theaters, best 1st experience), but it results in the first thing that comes to mind with Ned being the memes and a specific obscure ytp and not, you know, the movie itself.

When WB doesn’t want anything to do with you, Zazlav “I’m going to Ai graft my face on a Lollipop Guild member” owned WB, you know your a real case work.

The fact Kirby Air Riders is releasing next month with a ton of things to do and a focus on polish and putting as much as the creatives want (with no dlc plans too) tells me that it’s a deliberate choice on the part of the Pokémon leadership to cheap out and never improve. Why when profits easy?

I finally realize why 90% of the general population just ignores politics because it’s basically the ending of Raiders 24/7. Staring into an unholy sight of an indescribable cosmic horror and its mere presence destroying your sanity and physical and mental self.
October 25, 2025 at 12:36 AM
Thank the lord that the prestige label at WB have been putting all the shorts on home media for the last few years. Just a few more releases and we basically have 90% of the shorts and all the Pc ones accessible to own (minus the Disney wannabe days but even die hards don’t really care about those).

They treat their brands like the bratty kid who won’t share things he isn’t using. “I’m not using this at all or ever in the future, but I won’t let anyone use this even if they will pay me for it.” Maybe letting companies own everything in perpetuity isn’t the best thing.
October 24, 2025 at 10:17 PM
It’s also that Iger really has bad tastes as a creative. Like, the sheens gone and we’re realizing he just bought a bunch of successful brands and has no idea how to maintain them outside of milking them dry cheaply. Makes sense he wouldn’t get an actual auteur approaching him with an idea.

Being the one kid who liked Indiana Jones more than Star Wars watching all this. (Look, Dial wasn’t anything special, but I’m glad the one franchise I care about went out on a note I liked and hey, at least it bombing means Disney won’t make terrible spinoffs for the time being.)

Pointing out the Charlie the Dog render from The Looney Tunes show and the Elmer render from Looney Tunes cartoons. I don’t mind the usage of cartoon art in these sets since it gives some character, but this was just inexcusably sloppy.
October 21, 2025 at 3:21 AM
Yup. Reminds me of the Collectors Choice 1-4 set where they mixed different incarnations of the toons together. I can excuse a lot of the issues since this is a small operation and we’re lucky to get these types of releases at all, but man they shoot blanks sometimes with their art choices.

Honestly, I’m more interested in the lesser directors I’m fascinated by compared to definitive favorites. Art Davis has great rubbery animation and timing and I honestly see Hardaway and Daltons LT work as a guilty pleasure for how odd and offbeat it is compared to the rest even if it isn’t good.

Man. Life of Brian really was an accurate depiction of how people get themselves into chaotic knots over trying to find the perfect thing out of region and politics wasn’t it.

Thank you guys for introducing my hyperfixation for the coming weeks after this came out. If loving this movie makes me a sick freak, then so be it. F*** them kids.

Director of the film was forced out and it was changed so much to fit market views. Really embodies how Pixar has become more chained to Disney for their brands and sequels rather than the storytelling and innovation that had in the 2000s to the point that nothing is going to fix it.

Tron fans feel like Sci fis most abused soldiers. Only get attention once in a blue moon and usually get the worst end of things whether it be that cartoon getting canned after one season and now all of this.
October 11, 2025 at 8:42 PM
I’ll just pose a counter to the flood by saying you should just draw more Daisy or Kidna art instead. Idk, draw the characters you want if you really aren’t into the other.

Moar Sally. Maybe her with Tangle.

Hearing the story about Chuck Jones being bitter about this movie because they didn’t do the piano sequence the way he storyboarded it makes me feel that he didn’t understand at all the pressure cooker of a production it was. Oh artists, complain about execs, then complain about other artistsz

Seeing you cover this makes me realize that an album is covered here, it’s going to have to be something crazy. Like, someone suggested Calling All Stations a while back and while I’m still interested in that eventually, it probably isn’t nearly as interesting content wise as something like this.

At this point in time, I respect someone more who keeps their perspectives, but is open to learning and growing from those. The fact he has a moral and principled bone in his body put him above a lot of other people in the media circle he’s in.
