Addendum: passivity.
Ultimately, exploring a CRPG NPC is limited by a script, & hence, passive.
CRPGs don't demand a cross-question. An CNPC has a limited ability to "talk back". There is a sense safety in that.
"Your character isn't yours, it's the table's" is also a commitment to trust. 🧵11/11
