I don't get it. How can anyone look at Mamdani-- his appearance, biography, campaign, supporters, and voters--and conclude that to win we must "Forget Woke!." But I suppose that's possible if you're the New York Times and consequently far away from New Yorkers and their concerns.

Black men look really good in brown and tan. White guys hate that, because they look terrible in brown and tan.

This is absolutely in character and how he has conducted himself and his business for decades. Consider how he destroyed the Bonwit Teller building to make way for Trump Tower. The story even has an early sighting of spokesman John Barron. news.artnet.com/art-world/do...

I think I know that tree. BBG, right?

Exactly. If you and I know this, why doesn't my Representative?

Ride. Not rode
And by the way, I'm seeing lots of people on the bus reading actual books.
October 19, 2025 at 11:07 PM
I rode the bus in NYC all the time and have literally only heard anyone playing a song or video on the bus in the last couple of weeks. And only two people.

My uncle Morris's number was 1066-M. To remember it, my sister called it Battle of Hastings Morris.

Our number was 146-M, and it was a party line. One time the Breeses didn't hang up their phone correctly and we could listen to them listening to the Cisco Kid on the radio.

Using "on" would suggest that you think a petard is a giant hook of some sort and not a boobytrap or bomb.

I can't read the piece since I cancelled my wapo sub, but based on this headline the conclusion must be that if genocide is what it will take, so be it.

The Harris campaign slighted the left in favor of courting mythical Liz Cheney Republicans. That worked out so well, it's clearly a model for the future.

Doomscrolling the term is clever and apt. The activity is not so much fun.

I don't buy the premise that "Mamdani is part of a cultural shift to destroy the Jewish state " or even that there's inarguably such a thing. It distresses me to see commenters take that as a given

Let me guess: 7th Avenue Donuts & Diner, by the elevator to the 7th Avenue station on the F?

The other day i filled a big tote bag with tote bags and donated them to the Housing Works shop. I still have way too many tote bags.

This word is used to describe a chonky dog or cat, no? I don't recall seeing it used to describe a human.

This is not new. Remember when every Black leader was pushed to condemn the words of Minister Farrakhan? Just as offensive and demeaning.

They don't like to talk about it, but he also drew a clock face. The best clock face in the history of the test.

I did some research. The office was Manhattan Borough President and the opposing candidate was Andrew Stein. Stein won.

This is by no means original to Cuomo. Decades ago I was on the Upper West Side on election eve, and saw flyers everywhere accusing David Dinkins of antisemitism. The UWS is a heavily Jewish neighborhood. I think I know who the opponent was but won't say in case I'm wrong.
