Not that I dont agree that its also to dismissive about the innocent people who got killed. Should probably just have made it so he kidnapped them so they couldnt tell on him or something. But on the other hand I think you have to accept things like that cause horror. Like the danes in Frankenstein.

TBH I think its supposed to be less that and more "what can we do". Just like with the drunk guy who got the protagonists mom killed I think youre supposed to be less "its fine that he killed people" and more "he wont do it again and being angry about it wont accomplish anything".

Its not necessarily just the ”originality” to me as much. Its more the way that Romulus is like a failed attempt to mix both Alien and Aliens, while the same is true for Covenant mixing Prometheus and Alien.

While theres a whole lot to criticise the first one narratively when it comes to being originality. It atleast does the thing it does functionally. This one on the other hand feels like it fails at what it does alot more. While being unable to handle like 7 main characters properly.

Also yeah. ”Predator movie but now they hunt something other than humans” makes significantly more sense than ”an Alien movie, but the Alien have been trapped by another technology advanced Alien that uses them for sports hunting”.

Pretty close except Id change Romolus/3s and Covenant and Prometheus positions.

So maybe not that close.
