The big mistake is to think that companies or oligarchs will want to share power. The more believable mechanism is that a rising middle class will demand more influence.

Hundreds of millions were lifted out of poverty and terrible governance in China, but US labor suffered. A good deed but a bad deal for US labor.
For Europe, Russia has truly been a big disappointment. Goodwill was responded with imperialism.

There is a lot of pressure inside companies to keep political out of it to focus on pragmatic survival, growth, and unity, so that really seems like wishful prescriptive thinking from Harris and Obama.

I know what you mean about charges like Communist and Socialist without nuance, especially in the American context.
With charges like Fascist and Nazi when directed at the current administration and its supporters, I would have a hard time to call it baseless. What is the missing nuance?

Democracy does not just mean elections. In widely accepted parlance today, democracy is defined, as a minimum, as a system of institutionalized popular sovereignty that plays by majoritarian rules and treats all citizens as equals.

You wouldn't necessarily need to increase the size if you weren't adopting a method like German-style mixed multimember proportional. The states with one member delegations wouldn't get proportional outcomes, but you'd still see a big change in Congress overall
