All he wanted was for people to have free will. To have the autonomy to choose their fates. He didn't know that it would be the thing to bring about evil being released into the world. He didn't know it would damn all of humanity as well as himself, and Lilith. He didn't know it would hurt so much. He can still remember the feeling of burning as he fell. Flames coursing all over him, heating the spears still protruding from his back and chest like pokers left in the fireplace too long, white hot and agonizing. His robes acting as fuel for the flames to prolong themselves. He tried to rip them off, but between the spears acting as pins to keep them in place and being in a spiraling free fall, all he managed to do was entangle himself further, until eventually he crashed down. The spears embedded themselves in the ground on the impact, acting as if someone had tried to pin a live insect. He thrashed and screamed and sobbed for hours until the flames had consumed every scrap of heavenly fabric and left him with nothing but the scars and agony that would never fully leave him. He knows it's silly but he misses his robes. Soft and warm as sunshine, safe and comforting in how they draped over him, covering him from neck to foot. Loose and flowy and fluttering in the wind around him when he would fly with his brothers above the garden, soft fabric soothing in the way it brushed against him. Nothing on hell or earth felt like it. Everything was wrong, no comparison to be made for something made from the heavens. He couldn't stand the replacements Lilith tried to give him. He appreciated them he did, but as soon as she left the room he would always shed the fabric as if it had burnt him, what an ironic comparison, scalding just like his robes had upon his descent. His skin crawling
