I think I'd do similar! Plus, it's good to know that you have a fallback incase you're stuck with something using the newer versions.

Same! I'm still an absolute noob at 3D modelling, so maybe it won't be the biggest jump to learn on a more up to date version. Now when I make stuff, I just send out pleading vibes hoping that nothing explodes.
