It’s unfortunate how all too common this practice has become. It used to be a relatively straight forward process to get ahold of the person or team that you needed, but nowadays it’s hell on Earth. Don’t get me started on businesses that have an AI chatbot as the only ingress point for support.

The problems you raised about social media influencing about consumption habits are much further reaching than just mass media, and I’m sure you’re aware of that fact. Ultimately I wanted to thank you for using your position and platform to raise awareness about the issues our society is facing. 7/7

Google cannot generate results from documents it can’t access, and thus cannot acknowledge the gloss of history innately embedded within such sources. Misinformation is already rampant in pop history, and AI/autogenerated answers have made this problem significantly worse. 6/7

It’s a large part of the reason why I dropped teacher licensure from my degree, the problem is only going to get worse, especially in fields like history, where an overwhelming majority of sources remain physical. 5/7

The current generation of teachers were the first generation whose education was fully integrated with the Internet. They have never had to utilize paper sources in their research, with everything being available at their fingertips. 4/7

The concept of “Google-Fu” is totally lost on young people, with an overwhelming majority of them simply believing the first result generated by Google, be it an AI-generated “answer” or a brief snippet pulled from a random website. The ultimate problem is the cycle is self feeding. 3/7

Students are no longer being taught to research information to answer their questions, but how to find the answer, and the answer alone. The ancillary information acquired during the natural research process is being treated as an unnecessary negative product of an outdated research methodology. 2/7

Ultimately, I think it comes down to a cultural fear of change. Despite the “diversity” of EV charging options being much greater, people are used to (read “more comfortable with”) the routine of ICE fueling, and are afraid to make the switch.

It will take time, but I believe folks will catch on.
