THEY FUCKING FIXED IT

Yep, that's what I meant to say - device support will come eventually, but Android 16 QPR1 releasing doesn't go hand in hand with that immediately. :)

You will likely need to wait for a bit longer than for the generic QPR1 release until everything regarding the Pixel 10 is sorted out. I might be wrong though.

As far as I am aware, Android 16 QPR1 being ported doesn't necessarily mean Pixel 10 device support is coming. Google dropped the AOSP device source trees for their new phones, which not only made the jump to Android 16 harder but also hindered Pixel 10 adoption.

Still the case btw

Are there any updates from Google on when Android 16 QPR1 will be released to AOSP? Haven't heard any updates from Google in a long time... 😬

This is so cool to see! Any plans on when this will allow us to transfer chats between Android and iOS? That'd be the BEST feature in a helluva long time 🙏.

Besides polls in chats.

"AOSP is not going anywhere", they said.

"Sideloading isn't going anywhere", they said.

I totally understand what you mean by missing DivestOS, and it really is a shame, but what do you mean about paranoid setup with Graphene? You can turn pretty much anything you don't like off and it'll be just fine! :)

*MASSIVELY delayed

BSD is a great OS, but mostly for enterprise and server applications. It just doesn't achieve nearly the same compatibility without major efforts and translation layers.

Should I go on or is that enough to prove no one's "magnetized" here?

Haha, okay, let me do it for you.

FreeDOS is a DOS. It's in the name. WTF?

ReactOS is still in Alpha and doesn't run without regular blue screens and only on very select hardware.

Darwin is mostly locked into the MacOS/iOS ecosystem because little software is developed for it apart from those.

No, didn't face any problems for me personally. Some may miss Google Wallet, but other than that, compatibility is perfectly fine. The average user won't miss anything, as you can substitute contactless payments with Curve with minimal effort.

Overall, I believe there are good chances to land GrapheneOS support for those devices, even though I could imagine some roadblocks (like their cooperation with Murena) to appear. Shiftphone is popular among De-Googlers and would be an awesome device to run GrapheneOS on! 5/5

I referred and went through the list of required features for GrapheneOS with their employee, and their phones already tick some boxes. They still have a long way to go, but overall, it looks promising. The company isn't inexperienced - they have had a few iterations for their phone already. 4/5

It's now one of their smaller priorities to get in contact with the folks at Graphene and talk about a possible future cooperation. This would allow for yet another OEM to work with GrapheneOS. Their technical team is happy to tackle this. 3/5

Shiftphone is a pendant to Fairphone, but with less security fauxpas in the past. They provide 7 years of software updates, use Snapdragon SoCs and are in Google partnership. They already have good custom OS support (currently for /e/OS) and would like to support GrapheneOS as well. 2/5
