Spent the day up a mountain. Was a tad misty. First Munro in a few years. Hopefully more to come.

Most of the roads (inc this one) are 20mph in Bearsden now. The speed limits don't apply to this van driver (SA70HGO). Thus, they have no issue with overtaking two cars and a cyclist (doing close to 20mph) at probably over 40mph. #DNRPoliceScotland (the toots were the following driver warning me).

Hi DIY BleSky... I want to take this mixer valve out (first to find out what type it is and to turn replace it, because I believe cold is flowing through to the hot). It looks like it's held by a lock nut. I'm guessing a tool will fit the notches? Any idea what tool? I think it was Howden installed.

Working from home today, so a walk before work. So glad I did.

I spotted this driver using their phone just before they set off at traffic lights. Their response, 'Have a lovely day and peace to you'. Yeah, I'd settle for #RoadPeace which would require you not endangering others by using your phone whilst driving... WA13GVD

When travelling for work it's important to check out the local cycle infrastructure... Not perfect but not bad.
Where was I?

We saw him!

Look who I saw cycling through Torrance. Sir Chris Hoy. And yes that's a donkey in the Foreground. 😁

...which highlights just now good the stabilisation is!

Thanks to replaceable lenses the camera will live to film another day. I need to reconsider the mounting though.

Thanks again to the drivers for alerting me!

Want to see footage of my 360 camera dismounting onto the road (due to a Best360 action stick failure). Here's a stabilised video showing the moment in all its glory.
The stabilisation makes the fall look graceful. In the next post you can see the footage without stabilisation...

Oops! My rear stick mount for my Insta360 X5 gave up the ghost this morning. Fortunately you can replace the lenses and extra fortunately, I already have a spare. Not impressed with the apparently sturdier Best360 action selfie stick... 🤔😩

Ah, happy memories. It's 12 years ago today that one of my bike's frames completely failed on me as I pulled away from the traffic lights. Fortunately ithe frame didn't completely collapse and I stopped to check why my bike felt so...bouncy! 😱😁

...the last year. Due to the regularity of the parking I am certain that this is a staff member of the hospital. This is how much they care about their patients. I've reported other similar staff members before and they've stopped. However, I need to see who they are to report. I'll keep an eye...

I'm not sure parking gets any more entitled than this (a thread).
This is a hospital and this particular 'parking spot' is 100m from spinal injuries. A place where it's very common to see wheelchair users. The vehicle (SP62ZXR) in this thread has been parked by its owner like this for at least...

Here is the driver who when asked why he was driving too close to my rear (0.6 seconds by frame count), responded with, '18 weeks of road works for a f*ckin cycle path for you...'. So you're annoyance that I don't use an unconnected twig/branch filled shared path justifies your driving does it?
August 12, 2025 at 8:32 AM
It's rare for me to report mobile phone drivers (due to crap system up here for reporting), but this driver who was taking selfies whilst driving along in heavy traffic, yeah, I think this merits a report. Incredibly dangerous. She didn't seem too bothered when I pointed to the camera... (Crow Rd).

This is why I don't cycle close to parked cars. #DNRPoliceScotland
August 6, 2025 at 8:33 AM
Just beyond the roadworks the path is in a mess. Twigs, branches, leaves etc all over the lane. This will be from yesterday's storm. This will need tidied up, although I'm not expecting that to happen any time soon.. especially considering that they've closed the shared use path with no warning.
August 5, 2025 at 1:33 PM
And here is the vehicle blocking the pavement. I joined just after that having then to dodge the signs and the vegetation that is now hanging over the path following yesterday's storm.
August 5, 2025 at 1:33 PM
They are digging up the very newly laid shared use path. It looks like they are laying pipes. Could they not do that when the path was going in? They are cutting down trees as well. The second picture shows that one of the workers ran in front of me to make sure it was safe for me to go...

So how is the new cycle lane doing on Auchenhowie Road, East Dunbartonshire? Well, this is what I came across this morning... (Apologies for the raindrop on the lens!) @cllrlynda.bsky.social

Yes no diversion for cyclists and pedestrians, and no temporary dropped kerb. It gets worse though...
August 5, 2025 at 1:33 PM
Yeah, this is definitely not an acceptable pass from this driver. It was at speed with an oncoming vehicle. This will be getting reported.
August 5, 2025 at 8:24 AM
Ok, I'm a bit sad, but when I'm waiting at Click and Collect for my shopping I check out a few car registrations nearby. This driver hasn't bothered to pay tax since March and the MOT is about to run out (and they had no kids)...
August 3, 2025 at 9:52 AM
I appear to have the same mystery boxes... 🤔
